Dear ,
We take pleasure in sending you the last International HRD Conference 2006 Newsletter and are delighted to be able to give you an overview of the conference: |

Connecting networks
This conference was initiated by NVO2 and has resulted in a unique collaboration between the organising partners NVO2, VETRON, ASTD and ETDF. A collaboration stretching beyond the limits of the individual organisations and aimed at connecting the various national and international networks.
An important goal of this conference was to offer a platform to exchange ideas, experiences and new perspectives. A platform for a diverse group of participants working in different areas: practitioners, politicians, academics and artists, all of whom are interested in HRD and in sustainable development. We have reached our goal! The different target groups were clearly visible, not only in the programme which was on offer, but also in terms of the participants present and the list of sponsors!

Appealing conference theme
The conference theme, The Learning Society for Sustainable Development, appeared to have great appeal. We explored new approaches to a learning society for sustainable development. Judging by the responses we have had, it appears that the conference indeed created inspiration and diverse learning opportunities. The conference sessions held in the various different tracks also had a lot of enthusiastic participants and workshop leaders.

Social and networking programme
During the conference there were many possibilities for networking. Each day started off with a networking coffee period. On Monday, all the participants were invited for a welcome reception offered by the municipality of Amsterdam. On Tuesday afternoon, a visit to the Heineken Brewery was scheduled providing a real taste of Dutch beers and ‘bitterballen’. In the evening, participants were able to join the social event and explore the streets of Amsterdam, the ‘Red Light District’ and enjoy a very tasteful dinner. All social activities were well attended and very much appreciated!

E-Campus online
To give the conference an even more ‘sustainable’ character, an E-Campus has gone online since the 11th of October! Through this portal you can find all full papers, video fragments and available presentations which were used during the conference. You can also continue your networking contacts and exchange more information on the different themes in the online forum. Interested? Visit the E-campus through www.hrdconference2006.nl > Portal.
